What’s up in August 2019?

Another month lies behind us, Christmas is coming nearer. Well don’t be scared, you have some more time to get all those presents sorted 🙂 However, it is time to have a look at what August 2019 means for this blog. Last month we finished the Chasing the Light adventure in Iceland with the return to Keflavik and from there back home. So now is the time to start a new adventure. Of course, the Learning Adobe ® Lightroom series also continues this month. But before we look into the details of those two, let’s have a look at the Photo of the Month.

Photo of the Month August 2019

For this month, I have chosen one of the few photos that I have worked on using filters in Adobe ® Photoshop. I don’t do this kind of extensive post-processing very often, but sometimes it is fun to see what you can make of a rather bland photo by using all sorts of filters and changes. In this case, the results convinced me to get them printed and framed on my wall.

Off the beaten track – Bulgaria

As promised, I am starting to tell the story of a new adventure on August 16, 2019. This time it leads me to explore Bulgaria with my camera. Getting to the starting point of my journey, Sofia, turned out to become a little bit of an adventure. After that, it was all about finding my new tour guides and wait to see where this journey would take me.

Post-processing with Adobe ® Lightroom

Last time we had a look into the HSL/Color panel of the Develop Module of Adobe ® Lightroom. On August 23, 2019, we are going to explore the Black & White options. Not only are we going to use the automatic conversions to Black and White, which Adobe ® Lightroom is offering, but we are also going to have a look into the different filters and how to improve the initial monochrome conversion.

Website News

Those of you, who frequently visit my photo website will already have noticed it. I managed not to melt in front of my computer but instead changed the layout of my website. So head over there and let me know what you think about it in the comments. In the near future, there are more changes coming up so stay tuned 🙂
