Yea, it is that time of the year again. A new year is knocking at the door, at least almost. Some of you might be busy figuring out what to do differently in 2019, some already made their plans long ago.
My travels are planned and more or less booked, going East, South, and North while staying in Europe, but more about those in later posts.
Looking back on 2018
This time of the year is, of course, not only the time of recovery from all the chocolate and the excellent food. But also for having a look back on the past year.
Glitches and Errors
There were, of course, a few glitches here and there, that should not have been there. Like, when my auto-renewing https encryption decided not to auto-renew. Thankfully, this happened on a day when I actually checked my blog twice and could be fixed fast. And then last week, the notification emails for the new post about the story of my travels in Iceland suddenly contained ads. That came as a surprise, even to me – actually even to those who had developed the software that I am using to get those emails sent to you. The good news: they say it is fixed and should not happen again.
My sincere apologies for those glitches – I would love to promise they won’t happen again, but to be honest that is a promise beyond my abilities.
There are a few things I am grateful for
One of my Iceland images made the runner up’s in the May issue of Outdoor Photography:
I had first exhibition of my photography in March/April in Dörverden, Germany, with almost 400 visitors. If you couldn’t make it, you can still find the photos on my website or in the little slideshow below.
And I visited the Balkan Peninsula, rather Bulgaria, for the very first time. As it turned out it was the first of many more visits to come in the future. Some of the photos of that tour have already made it to my website and there will be more to come.
So, all in all, it has been a fun year.
I hope you have made some good memories as well.
Enjoy the holiday season and have a wonderful start of the new year 2019!
